            Today, bridges are everywhere.  Have you ever thought about what life might be like without bridges?  How would people cross raging rivers or bottomless chasms without the help of a bridge?

 

In this unit, we will look at the following items:

• Bridge Vocabulary

• Different types of bridges

• Famous bridges and their designers

• Bridge building materials

• Bridge design

• The bridge building process

• Cost to build a bridge

 

Your Challenge:

You are a structural engineer chosen to design a bridge.  This bridge must be designed, built, and tested within the design constraints and criteria.
